Summer is a season filled with backyard barbecues, neighborhood gatherings, and Independence Day celebrations. While these events create wonderful memories, they also come with a few safety considerations that homeowners should keep in mind.

A little preparation can help ensure your summer festivities remain fun, safe, and stress-free.

### Keep Your Grill a Safe Distance

Whether you use a gas grill or charcoal grill, always position it:

- At least 10 feet from your home
- Away from deck railings and overhangs
- Away from dry grass, shrubs, and landscaping
- On a stable, level surface

Never leave a hot grill unattended, especially when children or pets are nearby.

Before firing up the grill for the season:
